"Hull CVS would like to say a big THANK YOU to Electric Cheer & Dance for their performance and support of the Hull Youth Volunteer Awards 2010. This event, held on Friday 26th March in The Kingston Suite at the KC Stadium, recognized and celebrated the achievements of local young volunteers aged 16-25.
This was the first and biggest event of this kind and we wanted an opening act that everyone would remember - the Electric Lightning Hip Hop crew opened the show and they were terrific! They gave an outstanding performance and received rapturous applause. The girls in the group were lovely, very friendly and professional, and were great ambassadors not only for Cheerleading in Hull but for young people. I received lots of positive feedback about them, especially about how unusual the group was and how most hip hop acts they’ve seen are all male performers. The Deputy Lord Mayor, Cllr David Gemmell commented on how much he & his wife enjoyed the act and wished he’d got half their energy and enthusiasm! We would love to involve Electric Cheer & Dance in future events, they’re fantastic!" Jakki, Youth Volunteering Development Manager, Vinvolved team, Hull Community Volunteers Centre"The Electric Cheer and Dance program delivered a wonderful interactive demonstration recently for our youth group, they were fantastic! The Rascals Youth Group were interested in learning Cheerleading and developing Dance routines so I contacted Sally through the Electric Cheer and Dance website. The demonstration was excellent, professional and encouraged the young people immediately to get involved. The children learnt routines and in doing so grew in confidence, built their team work skills and developed new Dance, communication skills and disciplines. Sally had a great relationship with the children. When the session ended the children where so excited they wanted to find out about their up and coming events to watch the team perform. The children’s behavior within the Rascals group can be challenging and unfortunately they don’t have safe places to play and interact with other children so to be able to experience and participate in a session that really boosted their confidence and made them really feel a part of something special. They’ve not stopped rehearsing the routines, adding new moves on the end and learning new chants! Sally’s professional attitude mixed with determination and enthusiasm for Cheerleading and Dance really encouraged the children and gave them aspirations to succeed in the future in sport, dance and working within a team." Dove House Hospice would like to thank Electric Cheer and Dance for coming along to support our runners of Roary’s 3km Fun Run on Sunday 28th March 2010. The run was in aid of the hospice which cares for people and their families who are living with life limiting illnesses. We hope to raise over £15,000 from it this year through sponsorship of those who took part. It was great to see so many people take part, with just over 300 doing so. The event was a fun family event with all ages taking part from babies in prams to Mary who is 84 years old! The girls were brilliant, thank you for coming along. The runners commented on how good it was to have enthusiastic people waiting for them at the stadium entrance!! All our care is free of charge and we care for people from all over Hull and East Yorkshire. Please see our website for further information: www.dovehouse.org.uk ." "We were all very pleased with the input from the Electric Cheer and Dance athletes at the Plings event in St Stephens Shopping centre in Hull. It was very cold, but the Cheerleaders were very professional and did a terrifc job in performing, as well as becoming part of our street marketing team conducting interviews and handing out leaflets. We would welcome Electric Cheerleaders involvement in our future events". Gary Hass, Children & Young People's Service, Hull City Council
"On behalf of everyone involved in Plings, I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of the Electric Cheerleaders who came along on Saturday 6th to help us promote all of the places to go and things to do in Hull. We wanted to show to the young people of Hull that there are hundreds of activities going on in Hull each week and the Electric Cheerleaders not only came down to showcase their talents and entertain the crowd, but also helped us to spread the word about Plings to everyone who came along on the day. Thank you!" Gordon Cherrington, Plings Project Manager
